The Data Scientist Intern will work with the Data Platform team to research and develop cloud-based data management solutions for our Systems. You will utilize a variety of technologies to provide a scalable, reliable foundation for organizations to store, process, and analyze large volumes of data.In this role, you will:
- Learn to design and build data pipelines for common business use cases
- Develop and maintain data processing workflows
- Design and develop data visualizations
- Learn and apply machine learning techniques to data analysis
- Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement
- Research and implement best practices for data governance and security
- Contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing activities to ensure that the team’s work is well documented and accessible to others
- Participate in sprint planning and agile development processes
Minimum requirements for the role:
- Current student pursuing a Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in engineering, computer science or related field (3.0+ GPA)
- Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, R, or Scala
- Familiarity with query languages such as SQL or KQL
- Understanding of data structures and algorithms
- Interest in data engineering and data analysis
- Strong technical aptitude and desire for continuous learning
- Effective time management skills and strong attention to detail
An ideal candidate also has:
- Hands-on expertise with SQL for use in data access, discovery and analysis
- Experience with data modeling and data architecture
- Ability to design and implement scalable, efficient data pipelines and workflows
- Understanding of machine learning concepts and tools
- Familiarity with Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, or Google Cloud Platform
- Experience with Databricks, H20, Power BI, Tableau
